Negotiations of Iran’s Supreme Labor Council regarding wage increases in 1403

Accord­ing to Arti­cle 41 of Iran Labor Law, the Supreme Labor Coun­cil is oblig­ed to deter­mine the min­i­mum wage of work­ers and the amount of wage increase for dif­fer­ent lev­el employ­ees accord­ing to the infla­tion rate to the amount cov­ers the liv­ing expens­es of an aver­age family.

Based on this, in the last days of 1402 (2024, March), the mem­bers of the Supreme Labor Coun­cil hold inten­sive meetings.

The first meet­ing of the Supreme Labor Coun­cil with the order to deter­mine the min­i­mum wage of work­ers for 1403 was held on Mon­day, 11 March with the pres­ence of rep­re­sen­ta­tives of three part­ners (Three labor rep­re­sen­ta­tives, three employ­er rep­re­sen­ta­tives and four gov­ern­ment representatives).

This coun­cil has not yet reached an agree­ment and final result regard­ing the min­i­mum wage and increas­es of oth­er wage lev­els in 1403 (2024 — 2025).

Nev­er­the­less, two things were agreed upon in this council.

The num­ber of labours fam­i­ly members.
Deter­min­ing Iran’s sta­tis­ti­cal cen­ter as the ref­er­ence for announc­ing the infla­tion rate.

The argu­ments would con­tin­ue to the remain­ing days of 1402 up to an agreement.

We are mon­i­tor­ing the out­come and will report the result of nego­ti­a­tion which clears salary increase for com­ing year.
